Health. Wealth. Legacy.

Your parents are getting older. Is there a plan before a crisis decides for you?

I’m Olivia Yates, BSN, RN — a nurse for more than 21 years and a Certified Wealth Strategist. I help families plan for aging with a clinical eye and a financial strategy, so the people you love are protected medically, financially, and with dignity.

Why families wait too long

Most families plan after the crisis. By then, the best options are gone.

A fall. A new diagnosis. A bill that went unpaid because Mom forgot. I see these moments every week — and the families who had a plan handle them very differently from the ones who didn’t.

  • Care decisions get made in a hospital hallway instead of at the kitchen table
  • Savings meant for retirement get spent on care in months
  • Adult children step in without knowing where anything is
What most families don’t know

The Medicaid 5-year look-back

When someone applies for Medicaid to help pay for long-term care, the state generally reviews the previous five years of financial transactions. Gifts or transfers made inside that window can delay coverage.

That means the planning window closes years before care is needed — and most families find out too late. An elder law attorney can advise on your specific situation; my role is making sure you see the window while it’s still open.

Why a nurse-strategist

A nurse sees what a financial advisor can’t.

Before any financial or legal decisions are made, I look at the clinical picture: current health, care needs, early cognitive changes, and the likely road ahead. Then I map your family’s finances against it.

The result is a plan built around the person — not a product. When legal documents are needed, I work alongside trusted estate planning attorneys, so you walk in prepared and nothing falls through the cracks.

Meet Olivia

I didn’t leave the bedside behind. I brought it with me.

I started as an LPN in 2004 and became a Registered Nurse in 2013. Today I care for adults 62 and older in Baltimore. Week after week, I watch families face aging, illness, and loss — and I see how much a plan changes the outcome.

The Abundant Life Group is where my nursing and my financial training meet. I assess, I educate, and I help families make decisions with confidence. I’ll never pressure you. My job is to make sure you can see clearly.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the Longevity Audit really free?

Yes, for now. It’s a 60-minute clinical and financial review for your family, and you leave with clear next steps whether or not we work together. There’s no obligation.

What’s the difference between a Longevity Audit and a Wealth Gap Analysis?

A Longevity Audit focuses on an aging loved one: their health, care needs, care costs, and planning documents. A Wealth Gap Analysis focuses on you: your income, retirement, taxes, and protection. If you’re not sure which fits, book either one and we’ll sort it out together.

Should my parent be on the call?

If they’re able and willing, yes. Hearing their wishes in their own words matters. If that isn’t possible yet, adult children can start on their own, and we’ll talk about how to bring your parent into the conversation.

What should I have ready?

Ballpark answers are fine. It helps to know your loved one’s main health conditions and medications, roughly what savings and accounts exist, any insurance policies, and which legal documents are in place, such as a will or power of attorney.

Do you only work with local families?

No. Meetings happen on Google Meet or by phone, so I work with families across the country. Insurance products are offered only in states where I’m licensed.

Do you sell insurance?

I’m a licensed life and health insurance producer. When a protection or retirement strategy fits your family, I’ll explain your options in plain language. But every conversation starts with education, and you’re never pressured.

Do you give legal or tax advice?

No. I assess, educate, and help you see the gaps. When you need legal documents or tax guidance, I connect you with licensed attorneys and tax professionals so nothing falls through the cracks.

Your next step

Every good outcome starts with an assessment.

Book a Longevity Audit for your family. If everything looks solid, I’ll tell you. If there are gaps, you’ll know exactly what they are — while there’s still time to act.
